Wine Description:

Selected Sangiovese Grosso grapes come from vineyards planted over 15 years ago cultivated on hilly ground in polychrome schist soils at an altitude of 500m a.s.l. The colour is deep, clear ruby red tending to garnet with age. Has an intense bouquet with a slight aroma of violet.

His harmonious, dry, tasty and slightly tannic flavour has refined to smooth and velvety with time. It’s excellent with all courses of a meal and exceptional with mushroom risotto, roast meat, cannelloni, stewed meat and chestnuts.

This sangiovese was blended together other grapes like Cabernet and Pinot Noir

Wine Cellar:

Tenuta Torciano Winery is situated in the heart of Tuscany, 35 minutes from Florence and 20 minutes from Siena, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and a succession of unique greenery that features towering cypress trees, long stretches of beautiful vineyards, olive groves, forests of oaks and lovely villages.

When you visit Tenuta Torciano Winery, you will totally immerse yourself in Italian culture, together with a Tuscan family consisting of 13 generations of wine producers. Here you will experience warm hospitality and additional Tuscan traditions handed down from father to son.

Area of Production:

One of the first wine regions anywhere to be officially recognized and delimited, Chianti Classico is today what was originally defined simply as Chianti.

Already identified by the early 18th century as a superior zone, the official name of Chianti was proclaimed upon the area surrounding the townships of Castellina, Radda and Gaiole, just north of Siena, by Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany in an official decree in 1716.

Grapes:

The Chianti Blend is a classic, long-established blend of wine grapes used in the wines of Tuscany, most obviously those from Chianti. The blend’s primary constituent is Tuscany’s favorite grape variety, Sangiovese.

This is accompanied by small quantities of lesser-known Tuscan grape varieties Canaiolo, Colorino, Ciliegiolo and Mammolo, but sometimes also Cabernet and Pinot Noire.

Torciano Collection

“GOLDVINE” by Tenuta Torciano is a wine with a beautiful dark red color that leaves room for nuances of intriguing spices that blend harmoniously with the bouquet. An intensely Tuscan wine that contains oak accents and spicy nuances like black cherries, licorice, blackberry, black pepper, leather and hints of dark chocolate that enhance its character. Sumptuousness is a core of pure fruit, surrounded by a solid structure and salty nuances Enclosed in a jewel-bottle, with a bronze silhouette that recalls the typical Tuscan art such as the David di Donatello of the City of Florence.
