To us, luxury means taking the time to live and enjoy happy moments with family and friends. On the estate, we enjoy interacting with our horses and all of our animal friends, or taking a barefoot stroll through the vineyards until you reach the shore of the neighboring river.
Our philosophy emphasizes that however you choose to spend your time here, that you pause and take a moment to contemplate the paradise that surrounds you.
Our guests are free to experience this paradise in the Tuscan countryside of San Gimignano City, a remote destination altogether unique to the world. Visitors may come to celebrate an anniversary or special occasion here, or perhaps just to experience the world of Tuscan wine and cuisine.
Our basement cellar offers a wide range of wines and large reserves intended to be combined with delicious dishes using only the fresh and raw ingredients cultivated from our property.
Virtually anyone can discover some sense of well-being on our farm, whether it be through truffle hunting along trained hounds, strolling through the gardens and along the banks of the river, tasting the fruits of the vineyard, experiencing a romantic dinner served directly in the vineyard, or just reveling in the serene silence of the surrounding nature. Because of our originality and exclusivity of the estate, paired with the warm reception of our kind and professional staff, Tenuta Torciano has come to be recognized as a jewel of Tuscan wineries.

THE VINEYARDS
Fawn Valley Vineyard
The land where this vineyard lies consists mainly of clay and limestone materials, with limited organic substance. This vineyard is set on the woody slopes of the Appenines, where the soil is composed of stone. The climate is dry, windy and full-bodied, which makes our wines perfect for longer aging. This vineyard produces beautifully ripe fruits that go into our full-flavored Merlots.
Villa Castelli Hill Vineyard
This vineyard is perched on the sun-drenched hills of San Gimignano. The well-drained clay soils paired with a dry and windy climate make excellent conditions to produce the beautiful ripe grapes that go into our delicate and full-flavored Vernaccia of San Gimignano.
The Gold Montepescini Valley Vineyard
Sunbathing in the beautiful Golden Valley, these vineyards produce the intense flavors for our Reserve Bartolomeo Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is cultivated from the woody slopes of the Appenines Tosco-Emiliano, at an altitude of almost 300 meters. The land is primarily clay and limestone, with limited organic substance. Because the fresh soil is low in acidity and the climate is superiorly dry, the conditions combine to create a perfect climate to produce our superior wines.
Etruscan’s Valley Vineyard
The geographic location of this vineyard is an ideal microclimate in a small valley that retracts and holds the natural heat particularly well. The limestone infused soil is rich in minerals, ideal for growing fruits and our lively sangiovese. The Etruscan’s Valley Vineyard is mainly dominated by Sangiovese grapes, however other grape varieties like Malvasia, Trebbiano and Canaiolo flourish here in small quantities.
THE HARVEST
Tenuta Torciano’s winery and winetasting strive to continue a traditional harvest system that has been passed down from father to son for 15 generations of Giachi. The locations of our vineyards in Tuscany, specifically in the Chianti region, are very fortunate because this region is one of a distinct few area that produce among some of the best wines in the world. Location is important, and any wine connoisseur will tell you that a good wine is the result of the fruit from which it is produced.
Our harvests are completed entirely by hand, ensuring we choose the best bunches of grapes. The harvest begins with the white grapes Chardonnay Sauvignon, followed by the Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Trebbiano. Then, the harvest process will continue with the harvest of red grapes like Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Sangiovese, and through the Canaiolo.Next, the grapes are now placed in baskets that will be taken to the cellar to be stripped, or separated from the raspberry.
Then we begin with the white wines, and crush the grains in order to facilitate the extraction process of tannins and cultivate what is good in the flesh and peel of the grape. For red wines, grains are added as well but are then transported to special barrels for the fermentation process. Following the fermentation process, the contents are then transferred to wooden barrels, then French and American barriques to age in special woods.
We are pleased to offer our guest of enthusiasts and connoisseurs of fine wines the opportunity to view and experience wine-making in French and American oak barrels, controlled by stainless steel tanks to ensure the highest quality product. The time needed for the wine to mature in each barrel varies depending on the type of wine we are striving to produce. After this stage, the wine will be micro-filtered and bottled to begin the aging process
TRUFFLE WOOD
